200Ah for my solar setup – am I overthinking the battery type?

I’ve been slowly building out a solar system for my workshop in the industrial area, and I’ve finally reached the point where I need to commit to a proper deep-cycle battery bank instead of just borrowing spare car batteries that keep letting me down. I’m looking at 200Ah batteries because I’ve calculated my daily usage and it seems like that capacity will give me enough reserve to run my tools and lights for a full day without dipping too low, but I’m getting completely overwhelmed by all the different options out there. There’s AGM, gel, flooded lead acid, and now lithium is becoming more affordable too, and every forum post I read seems to have a different opinion on which one is best for this kind of setup. I’ve heard that AGM is the sweet spot because it’s maintenance-free, handles partial charging well, and doesn’t off-gas like flooded batteries do, but some people say they’re more sensitive to overcharging and you need a specific charging profile to get the most out of them. I’ve also been warned that some cheaper 200Ah batteries are actually just rebranded starter batteries with deep-cycle labels slapped on them, which obviously wouldn’t last long in a solar application where you’re constantly cycling them. A friend of mine who runs a similar setup told me to just visit here if I want to see what a proper deep-cycle battery looks like, because apparently there’s a big difference in the internal construction that you can’t see just by looking at the outside. I’m leaning towards AGM because I don’t want to deal with topping up water levels and checking specific gravity every month, but I’m also a bit nervous about the price because a good quality 200Ah AGM isn’t cheap and I don’t want to make a costly mistake. Has anyone here set up a solar system with a 200Ah AGM and found it worked well for their needs, or did you end up wishing you’d gone with a different technology? I’d really appreciate some real-world advice before I drop a chunk of money on this.
