Just picked up my Wrangler from that gearbox place in Sharjah and the difference is night and day

So a few weeks ago my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited started making this whining noise from the transmission area that got progressively louder whenever I was cruising on the highway in fifth gear and I was absolutely dreading what the dealer was going to say because the warranty expired about thirty thousand kilometers ago and I’ve heard too many horror stories about the NAG1 five speed automatics that come in these things, but a buddy of mine who’s deep into the off road scene told me to skip the dealer entirely and check out this specialist up in Sharjah that handles a ton of Jeep gearboxes for the dune bashing crowd, so I went online and found their page https://gearboxrepairsharjah.ae/brands/jeep/ and it actually looked like they knew what they were doing with the Mercedes derived transmissions so I figured I’d roll the dice. The guy diagnosed it as a worn pump bearing and said they could rebuild the whole unit with upgraded parts for about a third of what a remanufactured transmission would cost from the dealer, and I got the call yesterday that it was ready and honestly when I drove it home last night the shifts were so much crisper and the whine was completely gone and I could actually hear myself think on the E311 for the first time in months, plus they showed me all the old parts they pulled out which looked pretty tired after a hundred and forty thousand klicks of desert heat and my questionable off road skills, so yeah just wanted to share a positive outcome for anyone else with a Jeep that’s starting to make expensive noises from underneath.
